Hold your horses! Where did you find your sources? When did you loosen the grip on the throat of your internal forces? Carving cravings Packing them in bullet casings Vegetarian renaissance man but you're still forward facing I would rather we meet in a public place I can picture the look in your eyes As he leans in to wipe tears off from her face He can see that she's still wearing her disguise You keep trying Oh, you've always wanted more Better than before No, you can't replace your core Your internal war Every morning New medication suppresses old yearnings Mighty antennas will bring us together without the sun burning Home made rivers Avoiding the axe but you're running with scissors Day light savings will help you transition from summer to winter Such articulate tone every time he speaks Quite a gentleman all would agree While inside all that count are lips and cheeks Cut the crap! You're just a beast with a degree Oh, you've always wanted more Better than before No, you can't replace your core Your internal war Our internal war

Calibrate 04:16
Calibrating heart and mind, seeking out the order, feeding, breathing Intuition intertwined, feeling for a border, reconvening Information open wide, growing, getting older, tales repeating Settle down and pick a side, safely in a corner, time receding I know you've done it all before There's nothing new for me in store Ideas tangled in your head Some things are better left unsaid Standing in one place May as well be moving back Standing in one place Brings out everything you lack It's time to walk Separating yours from mine, natural disorder, trial completing Celibate till you found wine, bridges burning colder, time is bleeding Emancipation growing strong So who will tell you right from wrong? There is no reason to be scared You know that simple needs are shared Standing in one place May as well be moving back Standing in one place Brings out everything you lack It's time to walk

I believe that if I read about it all I can solve the mystery keeping me here All there is to know concealed behind these walls No common ground with those who keep me near Hearing echoes of the past I know I'm not the only seeking soul If their stories all ring true The lessons hidden there will guide me through Scan the pages, leave no stone unturned Find the secrets of your mind Under dimming lights your words reveal Similarities with you and I Will this page help me escape This chamber getting colder by the night? And as the years turn into life The path to leave is almost out of sight Am I so mad to think this way? That they relate to me? Am I so wrong to think and say Their knowledge is the key? You may think about my words You may find the truth will hurt But to bring about this change you call Break your final fall Finding reason to improve ourselves Tripping over each mistake Your solution has so much to tell Show me all the tactics I can take As the madness grows inside I know the information has no end With an option I must now decide To ignore the knowledge on which I depend Am I so mad to think this way? That they knew how to see? Am I so wrong to think and say It's not insanity? You may think about my words You may find the truth will hurt But to bring about this change you call Break your final fall With this logic weathering I can hear their whispering You may think about my words You may find the truth will hurt But to bring about this change you call Break your final fall

So you went and lied to them all But you forgot I built this place strong and tall Who will stand by your side? Who will help you hide? Rev your engine in neutral Makes some noise while they look away What's the worst that can happen If they found out today? Blow some smoke at the mirror Trample anyone in your way When they learn of your secrets Will they ask you to stay? So you let your pride take control Now you're surprised I'm not there to console Who even cares anymore? Who, but you, keeps score? Blow some smoke at the mirror Trample anyone in your way When they learn of your secrets Will they ask you to stay?

Wake Cycle 04:02
A lifetime left behind us had put forth all the effort To accomplishments that make so little sense In a strange reality dance with insanity To absent consequence, at no expense Something peculiar, but unfamiliar Back in reality, what could I be forgetting? I wish I knew What would have happened next? Out of the blue You dragged me from my sleep Just take me back The dream is incomplete Caught off guard, taken back into a clearer world And I can't help thinking something here is wrong Memory starts to fade away, are you who you think you are? Is everything we've worked for all but gone? Something peculiar, but unfamiliar Back in reality, what could I be forgetting? I wish I knew What would have happened next? Out of the blue You dragged me from my sleep Just take me back The dream is incomplete In that life we carry on, running faster now to victory With the goal so clear in sight, all conclusion lost to mystery I wish I knew What would have happened next? Out of the blue You dragged me from my sleep Into a trap So easy to forget Just take me back The dream is incomplete

Revise 04:00
Seeming stranger than before Below and wanting more Dragged in an awkward situation Honour is expected Worn out and neglected No need to say another word Never even asked Darker than the past Liquid so cold Underneath I hold Guarded generation New shell from rejection Trying to find a better way With my blurry eyes Forced to compromise This could be worse I am not the first Never even asked Darker than the past Liquid so cold Underneath I hold Some things are just meant to be Tell me what happens now Such a long long time... Move on...

Spurs 04:24
Find me a drink or seven in this deadly heat Who will help me find you along these ruined streets? How many moons have passed me since I first took aim? Soaring through the constellations to pin point "What's-her-name" I feel you getting warmer now, just hope its not too late I found the bounty Fascinated by your face I'm moving twice as fast now Just you wait I'm chasing you! The bastard who's behind your capture, a master of his trade Fled this city undetected, I swear I'll make him pay! And to think you'd be the victim of this criminal ordeal... Maybe if it's my lucky day, we'll cash out and not get killed I know you're waiting there for me with coin and that pretty smile I read the bounty Realized the final score Now only two things matter anymore I found the bounty Fascinated by your face I'm moving twice as fast now Just you wait I'm chasing you!

Severed Ties 04:34
Light! Dead End Lock that which I'm yet to own Stale! Second hand Incandescent sparks ignite the road Facing barrels we transform Feel the ground around erode Slaves of Pharaoh we perform Maybe tomorrow our names will be known Glass! Give way Embers eat away my past Clear! Mastermind Broken men will follow in my path Facing barrels we transform Feel the ground around erode Slaves of Pharaoh we perform Maybe tomorrow our names will be known Crossing a different line And following a new design Failing to compromise A fascination with severed ties Facing barrels we transform Feel the ground around erode Slaves of Pharaoh we perform Maybe tomorrow our names will be known

Pacific Time 03:58
I get two mornings today, I found a new place to stay A place where no one has heard of me They strip away all my rights in a city made of lights And mountains rolling into the sea Come, dreamers, get on your knees! We trust you with our house keys As long as you touch nothing And keep the place clean Come children, give us your time! Knowledge and brute force combined With hard work, money grows on trees But we give no guarantees I've fallen in a trap today I could leave, but something's telling me I should stay I came along for the ride, but it's so lovely outside The ocean calling me down to play The weeks are taking their toll, this wasn't anyone's goal I think I'll look for another way I've fallen in a trap today I could leave, but nothing's telling me I should stay
12.
Just another night in the city I know Seeking difference in my path One more possible love from another Is it hidden with you? Singing strange goodbyes on Queen West Point in opposite directions With your name on the tip of my tongue I can't leave you behind Where did you go? Are you alone? Too dark to see you split from me I'll search for you till' night is through Survey the streets , my city sleeps If I hadn't missed the chance to bridge an electronic gap I could hear your voice so clear and follow it back home See glowing space, notice your face In Dundas Square, could you be there? No way to tell how we dispel Down underground, descending sound If I hadn't missed the chance to stumble on somebody else Maybe I'd be on my way with my heart in one piece Uncertainty towards your view, is this familiar to you? Acting on assumption I continue anxiously Not just any night in the city I know Not since our intersecting path Moving closer now to love from another Will it bring me to you? We can find each other once again If we take time to explore Like hide and seek with dire consequence In this dark downtown core Has anybody taken notice of this energy To bring such distant entities together easily? In that silent moment we could only use our eyes The effect was irreversible, I felt it energize Rush to rapid transit, not quite a rocket now But finally I can see the towers rise above the ground What's this feeling in my bones? You're coming by this way! Is down, on Front, our meeting place? Can I wait here and stay? Feel the pulse intensify Getting close, magnify Is it your silhouette? Can you not spot me yet? End another night in the city I know We rejoin on our path I collapse into love from another It's what lead me to you We have found each other once again Not sure what we're looking for Now avoiding a solo escape From this dark downtown core As we gaze upon this great frozen lake Hand in hand one more time We both know while the night's nearly over Our new story's begun
13.
It always starts with a question A human need and confession Every step is a progression Obsession turned indiscretion Where's the magic I look for? Tempted to seek and explore Indecision, let me know Broken with no place to go Perhaps plateau attracts plateau Have we reached an all time low? Past events, useless to me A universal mystery I turn the blank page around Tune into silence and sound Go where beauty surrounds No one will bring me down My own flesh pulling tricks Magnetic forces gaps and strips Ego-driven writing scripts Mesmerizing winding hips I can't separate a class Wishing I can make it last I turn the blank page around Tune into silence and sound Go where beauty surrounds No one will bring me down

about

The third album by Toronto-based progressive rock band, Bolus. 13 tracks feature a tasteful blend of dynamic composition and catchy melody.

Being the first album written after the addition of bassist Daniel Avner, a new collaboration experience has allowed for a progression into exciting sonic territory. In May 2012, we had spent a week at the Karch family cottage on Georgian Bay, with the single goal of writing fresh material for the new album. In a drastic change of scenery, with our creative juices flowing, we spent the week jamming and writing non-stop, and eventually came back home to Toronto with 13 tracks that we couldn’t wait to share with our fans and friends around the world!

Beautiful geometric artwork by Andy Kolenberg wonderfully complements our new musical compositions, and takes a refreshing turn from the art of previous Bolus album covers. Additionally, our own Mat Keselman has once again put his mixing talent to work with this release.
